Can we imagine a 3-year-old child in modern-day Israel suffering from such severe malnutrition that her left hand and foot are impaired for life?  That is how little Shevy came to us; huge eyes, gaunt face, wobbly with her ungainly, left hand tucked against her side. All the results of malnutrition. Shevy’s older sisters came too. Each suffered her own long-term effects of their early-childhood years of passive abandonment.

BL– Girls Town Jerusalem taught Shevy and her sisters every life skill, from eating with cutlery and changing clothes daily to inculcating her with self-pride and belief in herself.

Shevy’s current ambition is to grow up to be the greatest dorm counselor the world has ever known!
